The Outpost

Feature Film

The idea for The Outpost score was a mix of sound design cues and and grand themes. I also co-wrote the end credit song “Everybody Cries”. This was an emotional journey from the director where the ordeal of the soldiers is also wrapped up in the unexpected death of his son. It is sung by Rita Wilson.

Storyline

“The Outpost” is a true story... in 2009 forty-eight American soldiers are overrun by four hundred Taliban.  This was the biggest battle in the entirety of the Afghanistan war. It is a truly tragic and heroic story.  CNN anchorman Jake Tapper wrote the bestselling book about the events and terrible decisions by the pentagon surrounding this remote outpost.  This film is a war drama,  which is different than an action picture.  Although there is certainly action in it the core of the movie is about the often unsung rank and file soldiers that rely on each other, they're camaraderie, and their devotion to each others safety on a daily basis.
